Tell Me About It (Demo)

I wrote this song after saying ‘Tell me about it’ to someone and I thought, hey, I’m going to write that down. A recurring theme in my songwriting. I either blurt it out or dream about it. Either way, I like to see them as little gifts to keep me encouraged enough to go on and write some more. I like the layers to this song. The poor guy loves this fool and is waiting on her to grow up. He is also fed up, so you aren’t quite sure what he will do. Everyone has been hurt, so I think this song might resonate if you were on the receiving end.

Ron Wallace is a top Nashville demo singer and I was so blessed to have him sing this song. He blew me away with his version.

Verse: I’d love for you to wake me up One time without your cryin’ cup Middle of night Nothin’s right He walked out And there’s no doubt He broke your heart There’s no fresh start

Chorus: Tell Me About It You talk about your pain Like I don’t know You cry your tears of blame It’s all the same As what you did to me A year ago So Tell Me About It

Verse: It’s a lonely world out there girl It’s time you learned you ain’t no pearl You need a friend But in the end You don’t try Just say goodbye You’re not true Even to you

Chorus: Tell Me About It You talk about your pain Like I don’t know You cry your tears of blame It’s all the same As what you did to me A year ago So Tell Me About It

Verse: Why do I keep on showin’ up? Will you ever grow up? Why can’t you see You’re killin’ me But you’re to blind It’s a waste of time It’s not a game Of who’s to blame

Chorus: Tell Me About It You talk about your pain Like I don’t know You cry your tears of blame It’s all the same As what you did to me A year ago So Tell Me About It Tell Me About It Oh Girl, Tell Me About It
